(AFHOLDT 2020) SUMMERCAMP, ODENSE – Get inspired by robots
Come and join us at the Danish Technology Institute for 2 days of robotics fun, hosted by our very own robotics engineering and High5Girls rolemodel Clionadh Martin (Clio). Clio will bring you through a journey of learning how to think like a robot, to see their possibilities and learn how the robots around you think and feel. This will all be based on real life scenarios and applications.
Once you are happy you can think like a robot, we will apply that thinking to develop our very own Line Following robot, from physically assembling all the pieces together, writing code to tell it what to do, and having a bit of friendly competition with your new friends.
Where: Dansk Teknologisk Institut i Odense
When: 29 & 30 June 2020
Who: Girls 15-19 years old. No technical knowledge needed – if you are interested in hearing, learning, trying – this is for you. Max 15 girls can participate.
MORE INFORMATION TO COME
How to apply: send an email with your name, phone number, your school and T-shirt size to Marianne ma@high5girls.dk
Looking forward to seeing you all for this remarkable opportunity!

- Effect of environment on sensors
- We will have different kinds of sensors in action so you can go and play with them and see what the robot sees from using them
- Intro to different types of robots
There will be interaction the whole way through, so you can think of the sensors that you have learned about and which ones you think suits each application best
Mobile robots
-
-
- Robot arms
- Social robots
- Make your own robot
- We split into groups and you have to pick a piece of paper out of a hat which will have the requirements for a robot you have to build [picture of environment…]
- Based on what you have learned you have to pick the different sensors that you would use, highlight what issues the robot would encounter regarding the environment it works in and highlight how you would expect the robot to move…
- Before lunch you will have 2-3 minutes each to pitch your idea
-
- 12:30 – 13:30: Lunch
- 13:30 – 15:30: Requirements for making your own Robot
- Skills to make a robot
- Group brainstorm on what skills you need to make a robot
- From your previous robot application, you should highlight what kind of people you would need to make this robot for
- Meet the developers
- Skills to make a robot
